EarthLapse: A globally crowdsourced timelapse of the planet on Earth Day 2015.

5/03/2015 ISO 1200 Magazine 0 Comments

To celebrate Earth Day 2015, Triggertrap – creators of the world’s most powerful timelapse tools – brought together photographers from five continents and 11 time zones to create EarthLapse: a spectacular timelapse window on our world from many perspectives. From sunrise over Bristol’s magnificent Clifton Suspension Bridge, to nighttime across Table Mountain, via sunset on the Amalfi coast, all shot on Wednesday 25 April 2015, these clips have been combined to create a stunning timelapse video that celebrates the diversity, wonder, and brilliance of Planet Earth.

In a follow-up to last year’s highly successful LapseLondon, when 40 photographers timelapsed a day in the life of London, EarthLapse drew on the vision and enthusiasm of photographers across the globe, whatever their skill levels, to highlight how breathtaking every far corner of the world can be. The beautiful outcome illustrates why days of global appreciation such as Earth Day remain important to preserving our planet’s environment.

With guidance from Triggertrap’s tutorial videos, inspiration from Triggertrap Pro photographers, and Triggertrap’s affordable and intuitive kit, anyone can learn to create beautiful videos charting change across minutes, hours, days, and even months. Anyone who feels inspired by EarthLapse and would like to get involved with timelapsing - and maybe even feature on Triggertrap’s future crowdsourced international timelapse videos - should follow Triggertrap on Twitter and Facebook, and, of course, take a look at triggertrap.com!

Meanwhile, EarthLapse is a glorious three-and-half minute film bursting with images of the ordinary rendered extraordinary.
