Gary Guild Photography: Ice Portraits

Hey Gary, "Why did you freeze a bunch of things in blocks of ice and then take pictures of it?"

Each item in this series is an object that represents a secret held by the person who lent it to me to photograph. But I'm not interested in people's secrets. Asking for an object that represented a secret was just a way in.

These images are an attempt at creating portraits of the various selves within each of us. Like the side of you that might be broken. The side of you that always gets the urge to run. Or maybe the side of you that is perpetually in love. ( read more here..)
