Photographer Renato D’Agostin discusses his new self-published book 7439, a chronicle of an intense coast to coast journey that provides a powerful document of America through his lens.

The title of the book owes to the number of miles that D’Agostin rode on his 1983 BMW motorcycle while creating the work in the summer of 2015.

DIY DARK ROOM

⚙ As I still have several prints to make in the next days, today I decided to update the darkroom and take it to the next level. I had already built the system for the fixer months ago, but today I added a motor for the selenium and one for the developer. This way, once I've found the correct values, I can jump from sheet to sheet, focusing only on the image making, or walk out to pour a glass of wine...Seeing them operate at the same time is the most beautiful choreography ⚙🔧🔨
