Making of the award-winning series Becoming an Athlete by Max Riché
This short film explains the making of the
award-winning series Becoming an Athlete. Shot in late 2011/early 2012
with the Athletes of the French National Sports Institute in Paris
(including several Olympic ahtletes), with a mix of Broncolor strobes
and continuous light.

I had set up the concept and aesthetics of this series of images and
offered INSEP to team up on the making of this new set of images. The
response from the French National Sports Federations was unanimous, and
we carried out this project. So was the response of the creative
community with two prizes subsequently awarded to me by a Jury composed of photo magazines editors in 18 (yes, eighteen!) European Countries

The series won the EISA Maestro Silver Award Europe, 2012-2013.
