Fstoppers Editor David Strauss explains the complex process about how he got this amazing picture.


I planned and thought about this photo for over a year and it turned out to be the most complicated picture I've ever tried to take. The goal was to capture an Atlas style pose with a bodybuilder "holding" the sun, light the scene with enough Profoto D1's to give the model definition while keeping some detail in the sun and sky, and get everything in camera.
