Eden Park Our Neighbourhood Photographic Exhibition

Photographer Lee Howell has just completed a large project for New Zealand's largest sport stadium, Auckland’s Eden Park: Neighbourhood.  The video is overview of a 4 month project that includes behind the scenes and final exhibition.

Lee Howell says his passion lies in working with people and creating portraits that glow with a natural warmth whilst capturing a person’s true character.

I'm super excited to see many months of hard work finally coming to life. My latest exhibition is happening next week at Eden Park stadium where there will be nearly 100 oversized prints displayed on the walls of Eden Park. This exhibition celebrates and tells the stories of the stadium's diverse range of supporters, neighbours, staff and local businesses.  - said Lee -

John Arkley - Eden Park Member We have so many stories from here, it’s hard to know where to start. Apart from our family being members for a very long time, there’s one story which stands out. Fiji were playing France with only nine minutes to go when my beeper went off - my wife had gone into labour. Now that was a big decision to leave the game! It took 13 hours for my daughter to be born, so I actually could have watched the last nine minutes ! Since the start of the year, I have been meeting the fans, neighbours and staff at Eden Park and hearing their stories. An exhibition including over 100 large photographs was installed throughout the stadium where they will remain over the next year. #ouredenparktoday #proofagency #ouredenparktoday #qbrandagency #phaseone #portraitphotography

BEHIND THE SCENES:

About Lee Howell:

I capture what you need to communicate. That split second of time that others don’t see.

Growing up in the U.K., I first embarked on a career in automotive engineering that took me to Formula One as a race team mechanic. After being inspired by my brother’s travel images, I bought my first SLR camera in 2002 and began teaching myself to shoot.

After moving to New Zealand in 2006 I put down the spanners in favour of a fulltime career behind the camera. Since then I’ve developed a reputation for producing high quality, professional images for corporate, editorial and advertising clients alike.
