Elements of Islamic Architecture in two colors by Thamer Al-Hassan
Thank you very much Thamer.
The majestic Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque has become one of the most imposing religious building and probably the most beautiful architecture that present the modernism in the Islamic architecture.
Once you visit it, you will deeply fall in love with the amazing design and the small details. the design is seen as a “globally unifying” landmark from its conception to completion, bringing together designers, features, materials and suppliers from almost every corner of the world: Italy, Germany, Greece, Turkey, Morocco, India, Iran, China and the UAE.
It is also one of the places that is a must for any photographer to visit in UAE.
I shot this photo to represent the important elements of the Islamic art& architecture calligraphy arches & domes and to show the great symmetry that the mosque shows in its large scale, I called the picture "From Dome to Dome".
The lighting and detailed looks extremely beautiful, with the white balanced set at tungsten I took the shot with a 1/15 speed so the color around the details would pop and to get more of the natural of light that is before the twilight to be in balance so that I wont need more than one photo for this shot.
The EXIF reading is:
Camera: Canon 5D mkii
Lens: Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8l ii usm
Focal Length: 16mm
Flash: did no fire
Aperture: f/2.8
Speed: 1/15 Sec
ISO: 200
Camera position: almost 70 degrees in relation to the head position
Filter: Polarize Filter

One tip: Buy a good quality Polarize Filter and use it in your travel and architecture pictures.
