Beauty Portraits: Cheap Speedlights vs. Pro Lights

Cheap Speedlights vs. Pro lights. Which one of these lights do you think is going to take a better portrait?  Fstoppers are going to take a beauty shot with the poor man's light (cheap speedlights) and with the rich man's light.( Professional lights)

 The Pro Lights: $10,000

The final image:

Speedlights and umbrellas: $425

So as you can see we've come up with an image that I think looks very similar to the previous shot that cost thousands of dollars to produce with just a few hundred dollars worth of speed lights and modifiers - said Patrick from Fstoppers -

The results are awesome. Then, don´t care about gear, but personally, I think pro gear can make your life easier. You choose.

About Patrick Hall:

Back in 2009 while shooting a wedding in Germany, Lee Morris and I started brainstorming the idea of creating a community for creative professionals to share their work and knowledge. It became clear that Fstoppers should feature behind the scenes style videos once our DSLR cameras began shooting HD video. Together, Lee and I launched Fstoppers in March 2010 with just a handful of original videos. One year later, Fstoppers has turned into a global community for both photographers and videographers.
