HOLLYWOOD STYLE!: How to Shoot CATCHLIGHTS in Portraits
How do you create those beautiful vertical catchlights that you see on so many Hollywood actors' headshots by these top portrait photographers? Easy, with two white boards, two speedlites and that’s it.
This 2 minute photography lighting tutorial, Mark McGee shows you how to add catchlights to make eyes shine in your portrait photography.
You’ll need a couple of cheap lighting stands and two whiteboards. Position them about 7 to 8 inches apart, angled in towards each other. About 35 degrees is good and placed with just enough gap for the camera to shoot through.
Next, place two unmodified speedlites, shooting directly to the middle of the whiteboards and angled perpendicular to them.
A really simple and cheap way to get striking catchlights in your headshots which will have Hollywood knocking at your door.

Nice. Going to try this out. Only thing I would add is a kiss of hair light because in this example too much detail is lost in the centre of the hair.
