The Adidas F50 campaign, featuring soccer superstar Lionel Messi, was no
doubt exciting yet proved to be a bit of a challenge to shoot as Gary
had to recreate a stadium within a studio.
Watch the video to
find out how he got the job done. Hint: it includes a body double, a
trip to Marseille and a very unique lighting situation.

Lets face it, photographers are everywhere. The cameras are so
incredible now days that it's easy to think that we can run a fantastic
business, take amazing photos, and charge pennies for hard work. It's
so easy to follow the trends of what "the other guy" is doing and we
lose focus on learning simple business tactics or expanding our
creativity. Outside the Softbox is an educational discussion or
tutorial with various artists that help us all think "outside the box"
when dealing with our photos, creative light or our photography
business.
This week we'll hear from the Tri-Digital Group. Greg
Sims, Jim Armstrong and Matt Hagler are known for their large
commercial clients with over 20 years of experience in the industry,
plus their zany personality of experimentation with all of their shoots.
This week, Greg helps us think "outside the box" for shooting a
product shoot. Usually it takes numerous lights to get a perfectly lit
product shot. But today, Matt uses reflectors to portray a fantastic
commercial shot of a North 44 Vodka bottle.

protect nature.
The preparations has been on for almost half a

that time the ideas and layout was ready, and
In collaboration with
Art Director Gemma Fletcher/Getty and Choreographer Louise Seloy Henrik
