Orton Glow: How to Add an ETHEREAL Glow for CALMING Landscape Photos
In this week’s episode, Mark Denney discusses how to add an ethereal glow for calming landscape photos. Perhaps one of the most popular trends in landscape photography over the years is to add an ethereal and painterly look to your photos using techniques such as the Orton Effect.
There's multiple different reasons why photographers do this, but for him, the reason is simply to reduce the cold and lifeless feeling that an overly sharp digital photo can have and replace it with a more soft and ethereal look..sort of like film. And not only are there multiple reasons to do this there's also multiple different ways to apply this look as well.
