Shooting Time Lapse is one of the great adventures of still photography. In this lesson I will show how to shoot, and light a simple time lapse sequence. I wanted to shoot a time-Lapse piece in my style. I also combined the Time Lapse sequence with a live action piece as well. That made it even more fun. I used a Kessler Cinie slider that is programmable to make slow moves during time-laps shooting. The Gnome short was about 75 minutes to make the 3 foot move. This technology has come so far in the last 2 years. It was great fun. I hope you find it educational.

You call superphotographer Terry Richardson in for one reason and one reason only: to make the whole place reek of sex. Granted, turning Mad Men's January Jones into a sex bomb for GQ's November 2009 cover couldn't have been his toughest challenge. We're just glad we were there to witness the whole thing. Note of interest: That burning backdrop in some of the photos? Yeah. Los Angeles was on fire at the time.

I had to flatten a lot of the layers, but at least you can get an idea of what goes into each image.

The Leica manufacturing process:
Every Leica lens is hand-crafted and goes through meticulous manufacturing processes to uphold the quality and precision that Leica defines and customers have come to expect. In the age where technology almost inevitably means mass manufacturing, Leica products are still made with exacting precision by the hands of highly-trained technicians.
This video gives you a behind-the-scenes look at the craftsmanship and making of Leica lenses in the production facilities of Leica Camera AG.

Our friend, high fashion photographer Andraz Blaznik send us an email with the behind scenes videos of his fashion editorial project: " Me and my doll" .
Storyline: Shot in London. Our hero is trapped by his own ego where he lives and acts in his own fairytale world. He looks and feels invincible. That is until he meets a very special subject. Even though she is a doll, she manages to shatter our hero's fantasy and pushes him in to the cruel reality of the real world. See how the story unfolds.

With the second season of Jurassic Lounge nearly upon us, we thought we'd ask Carnival Studio back to photograph and design a rad poster for the Winter run.
We decided to shoot this one in the Australian Museum as well. We waited patiently as the last visitors for the day exited through the gift shop, before taking over the atrium. A makeshift photo studio was quickly put together under the bemused but impassive gaze of taxidermied Australian mammals.
Our models are a stylish bunch, so we let them use their own clothes. They also do their own make-up. Kids these days, so DIY. We're pretty DIY too. For example, one of the stars of the poster, the indomitable Roxanne, was a Jurassic Lounge volunteer we casually promoted to superstar. (So dudes, volunteer with us, you never know where it might lead...!).
