If you are a filmmaker you need a slider. My favorite is the SliderPLUS by Edelkrone. It is small, smooth and perfect to travel with it.

Months ago  I watched a video by   filmed with a DIY Edelkrone Slider maked in few hours and I thought it was an amazing DIY project, but there was not enough information to make one.

Now shares other new video tutorial with more instructions...but not much.

UPDATE:
Alright guys I have tracked down the company that sells these types of linear slides. lm76.com/speed_rail_osg.htm
Use the OSG25 and remove the oil wipers or you will have a mess.
Let me know if you guys would like for me to take the slider apart and put it together step by step on another video. Leave a comment on my vimeo if you guys would be interested.

This is follow up to my other DIY Edelkrone Style Slider video. I do not know the name or brand of the material and the hardware store I bought it from closed down. Take what you see and use your imagination and I am sure you will all figure out something that works. - saids on Vimeo

DIY Edelkrone Style Slider from different perspectives

If finally you want to make one, on this blog (teak70.blogspot.com ) you can see images of original Edelkrone SliderPLUS from different angles to understand how it was built.

In this other video Alan Currall shares other version of a DIY Edelkrone Slider, more simple but perfect to understand how it works.
